Case Study: Hybrid Solar Power Project in Hissar

This week we bring to you a Case Study of our client who has recently installed a Hybrid Rooftop Solar Plant. We thought it best to share his experience with our users and so here is a brief. To give you an overview, this is a Residential Rooftop project with battery back-up. The project was executed at the on-set of Summer 2017.

Overview:

The project capacity is 2.5kWp (Get your estimate here).

Components:

  • Modules: Canadian Solar (315 Wp)
  • Inverter: 3kVA, 48V, Solar Hybrid Inverter, Flinn Energy
  • Batteries: 150 Ah Exide Solar Batteries
  • Structure: Raised (2400 mm)
The project is setup in a rural area where electricity supply is not continuous and power outages can be seen for up to 8 Hours a day. Solar Power for our client was a reliable and clean source of energy for energy security. The system is completely automatic, nothing needs to be done to use this solar power. For maintenance only PV Modules cleaning is required roughly every two weeks depending on the local environmental conditions like dust on panels.

Timeline:

Day 1: Completed the foundations and structure installation.

Day 2: Earthing pits.

Day 3: Batteries, ACDB and Inverter were installed and AC side wiring was completed.

Day 4: Modules, DC distribution box were installed and DC side wiring was done.

The project was commissioned on the fourth day on April 3, 2017.

User Experience:

Was your Solar Power Plant appropriately sized?

From what we have seen in the last two weeks that Solar Energy is sufficient to take care of energy requirements. We haven’t seen the instance where batteries are discharged to a level where power from the grid is required to charge the batteries and meet the load requirements.

What has been your experience so far with solar?

Our experience has been very good. Now we have continuous (24*7) and clean electricity at our home. It’s not only visually appealing but high quality performance system. This has been much better than what I had originally expected.

Would you recommend it to your neighbours?

I would strongly recommend it to my neighbors and friends. We have friends coming to home who enquire about the project and its performance. I hope these kinds of installations will help in educating the people and adoption of Solar Energy will increase in rural areas.

Did Ezysolare make it simple for you by supplying material on time? How long did it take? 

Ezysolare played an exceptional role in the project right from planning to delivery. The entire process the fairly simple and user friendly. I just approved the order, thereafter Ezysolare team took care of everything procurement, dispatch, sharing the tracking details and exact status of material on a daily basis and arranging for a local installer.

A professor in Valsad District of Gujarat installs 1kW Solar System on roof of his house

Dr. Uttam Patel is a professor in Vanraj Arts and commerce college. He wanted to source energy solar energy for his day to day requirement of electricity. So he posted his requirement on SolarConnect for a 1kW system on his house in Valsad, Gujarat.

Ezysolare team worked on the information provided by Dr. Patel and prepared Solar Energy Assessment Report and Plant Layout Designs for his Solar System.

Soon after this Dr. Patel got a call from Mr. Hiren Kabaria from Samvit Energy. Samvit Energy is a verified Solar System installation company registered on SolarConnect.

The duo discussed the requirement, negotiated on terms and conditions, and decided to work together to set up the 1kW Off-Grid Solar System on Dr. Patel’s house.
